square eyes square top

 When I was little my.mum would say your get square eyes if you sit to close to telly. Well it didn't happen  like many of my mum's weird threats  good job too as there is nothing I like better on a weekend than a box set and some serious hooky


Today's offering is walking dead season three as I work on a new jumper . I don't normally do clothes but I love this one it's easy and cam hook while I watch Rick and the gang get those walkers.

As you can see it a simple granny square with a raised flower . I need to do ninety of them.so will have smaller project in go as well  especially as I have run out of white . This top should also help my diet as it looks better the baggier it is at moment I am at top end of it fitting .still big projects always take me a while so who knows I may have a bikini body by finish

I really meant to show you this before  but I got side tracked with the holidays we took the kids out to the seaside and played the arcades . I love the sea side especially Wales athough it always makes me want to pack up and move there

the end of a (dinosaur) era

Forgive my absence this week. But it's been a nightmare  from.start to finish this time last week  I was excited to be starting a new job . In the seven days that took place  two of my son's have been ill I started jib and lost it four days later ( the joy of supply !!)  And picked up a virus .


The only bright side to this week is its a bank holiday weekend and the kids are off for a week my blanket section is finished ( will show you this after I have sewed some ends in)  and last but not least finished  dinosaur for my youngest .

He so bright and cherry he brightened up my depressing week .

Well he's finished  so glad I riped him  back and kept going am rather fond of this little guy

 I love the colours hero cute to use as a hot pad think I might  make a loop and use as wool hanging

 Well blanket is on hold . I excitedly learned my magazine how a three part special  making a sample blanket as wool and everything included seemed perfect but it failed to turn up and currently waiting for new mag to be issued while I look obviously at others  efforts


So in mean time I looked on ravelry and decided to make a owl trivet by sooty owl  you may have been fought up in the road trip craze she created last year

So I set to work and was really pleased unroll it wouldn't lie flat  then I noticed a mistake there's rounds back this is the result if a serious cutting session.

  so like Kermit  it was rip rip rules back to basics.

yarn vomit is one of worse type of sickness

not all bad as am left with this rather pretty base of my owl  and now post man  been and no mag so I know I have two days to finish  without distractions no.you the whole project was meant to take three hours to complete so far I racked up  six lol

shall I tell you a secret ?

I am fat ...there I said it

I am less fat than I was but more than I was a year ago. I can see you scratching your head this has nothing to do with crochet but bear with me

I suffer with boredom.eating  night Times stretch endlessly  and some crisps or chocolate while away the hours but I really do need to stop I have wracked my brains for a solution and decided   I will hook myself slim


I like the idea of a blanket something to represent  My journey  so off to ravelry I went for thinspiration lol see what I did there !!.

I don't know whether it better to make squares  or follow a pattern  so stripes  waves or something else entirely then there is size issue

I toyed with idea of a kind of mood blanket a colour representing loss  or gain but imagine a blanket of gains how would I ever sleep lol

I find attic 24 a good place to get ideas fir blankets .I have real envy whenever I visit.

Then I played over my many mags these were amongst my favourite

The one thing they all have in common is patch work. So I think  that's what  I will aim for but still no exact idea   of what I want 

 So enough of my ramblings I am of to get  a motif  and hopefully show you the start  

a new page

 When I was a child I was a bit strange I loved buying stationary. Nothing excited me more than a new  exercise book .All those possibilities just ready to leap of the page.

I have to confess I still feel the same way  so I decided to start a new blog. I have recently  discovered my renewed love of knitting so a purely crochet blog seemed  redundant and I felt ready for a new start in so many ways. So if your a new reader  welcome if we met before thanks for continuing to read my rambles

We have been so lucky lately with weather my crafting has been slow so say least but here are some of my more recent projects . I am half way through one which I hope to share with you all soon
